Bee Movie stays top of US chart

Animated comedy Bee Movie proved a hit this week with American audiences as it stayed at the top of the US box office chart.

Estimates from AC Nielsen put the Jerry Seinfeld movie in first place, after taking $26 million over the weekend.

Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe in American Gangster occupied second place, while a new entry, Fred Claus, debuted at number three.

The film stars Paul Giamatti and Vince Vaughn and could be a great holiday choice when it is released in the UK.

Lions for Lambs, another new entry, was placed at number four, while Steve Carell in Dan in Real Life spent its third week in the chart – this time at number five.

Horror flicks Saw IV and 30 Days Of Night were at number six and nine respectively, with thriller P2 entering the top ten at number eight.
