Christian Bale in talks for Terminator sequel

Batman Begins actor Christian Bale is currently in talks to star in the forthcoming Terminator instalment, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Bale, who is known for his work in films such as The Prestige and American Psycho, may take a role in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, which is the fourth chapter of the sci-fi series.

Charlie's Angels director McG is taking the reins of the movie, focusing on the story of John Connor in his 30s and the existing battle between machines and the human race.

John Connor was originally played by Edward Furlong in Terminator 2: Judgement Day, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger as the eponymous cyborg.

Meanwhile, Christian Bale fans have been further tempted this week with new pictures from the set of Batman sequel The Dark Knight emerging in Empire.

The latest issue of the magazine features an interview and pictures of Heath Ledger as The Joker.
