Miller, Page and LaBeouf all up for Bafta award

3 stars out of 5.0
The shortlist for this year's Orange Rising Star Bafta has been announced, with Sienna Miller, Shia LaBeouf and Ellen Page three of the five nominees.

Aimed at recognising a young actor or actress who has shown "exceptional talent" throughout the year, the winner is decided by the British public.

In addition to the aforementioned three, Sam Riley and Tang Wei make up the shortlist this year - the first for his portrayal of Ian Curtis in Control and the second for her debut feature film role in Ang Lee's Lust, Caution.

While audiences may be familiar with Sienna Miller as a fashion icon and ex-girlfriend of Jude Law, her work in films such as Alfie and Factory Girl also place her in strong competition for the award.

Page has previously been seen in Hard Candy and will soon appear in UK cinemas as a pregnant teenager in Juno, and LaBeouf featured in 2007's action epic Transformers in addition to Disturbia and A Guide to Recognising Your Saints.

The winner will be announced on February 10th.
