Untouchables prequel planned

Seventeen years ago a new take on the Al Capone legend was released. Starring Sean Connery, in his only Oscar winning performance, Kevin Costner and Robert De Niro, "The Untouchables" was a huge international success.

And now a prequel is being planned.

Ponderously named "The Untouchables: Mother's Day" the film will chart the beginning of the Al Capone years, presumably including his rise to power.

Antoine Fuqua, director of "Training Day" and the upcoming "King Arthur", is reportedly interested in the film and debate rages as to who will play the younger De Niro in the new film.
