Jumper stays on top in UK

3 stars out of 5.0
Hayden Christensen stayed twinkly-toed over the competition this week as action adventure Jumper continued its reign at the top of the UK box office.

According to figures from Nielsen, the film - from The Bourne Identity and Mr and Mrs Smith director Doug Liman - took over £1.5 million last weekend to stay ahead of Jack Black comedy Be Kind, Rewind, which debuted at two.

Sly Stallone's Rambo charged in at number three despite cinema chain Odeon's decision not to screen the film for "commercial reasons". Never one to take things lying down, the one-man army stormed back to take the highest per screen average of the weekend.

Oscar winning bundle of joy Juno came in at four, followed by National Treasure: Book Of Secrets, which stars Nicholas Cage, Dame Helen Mirren and Ed Harris.

Family adventure The Water Horse: Legend Of The Deep, which stars The Thin Red Line and Game On's Ben Chaplin, made it three weeks on the chart at number six, while another Oscar winner, There Will Be Blood, charted at seven.

At eight, it's Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman comedy The Bucket List, while nine goes to big-time monster mash Cloverfield.

Animated spin-off Alvin & The Chipmunks, starring Jason Lee and Arrested Development's David Cross, wraps things up at number ten.
