Jason and Jim join up for Pierre Pierre

2 stars out of 5.0
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind star Jim Carrey is reportedly teaming up with Juno director Jason Reitman to develop a new comedy called Pierre Pierre.

The Hollywood Reporter says Reitman will produce and direct the film, while Carrey - whose previous credits include Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask and Andy Kaufman biopic Man On The Moon - will star as a "self-indulgent French nihilist" charged with transporting a stolen Mona Lisa.

Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton wrote the film, which the paper states is a cavalcade of politically incorrectness dealing with race, sex and, gulp, Europeans.

Before work on Pierre Pierre gets underway, however, Reitman is due to direct a remake of classic thriller The Taking Of Pelham 123 with Pulp Fiction's John Travolta and Oscar winner Denzel Washington.

Meanwhile, Dumb & Dumber and Me, Myself & Irene star Carrey's latest offering, the animated Dr Seuss' Horton Hears A Who! which also features Steve Carell of The 40 Year Old Virgin, hits UK cinemas on March 14th.
