Weisz goes back to Egypt for AgoraWeisz, whose other hits include Enemy At The Gates, About A Boy and The Constant Gardener, will be joined in the film by Syriana's Max Minghella, Variety says. Max is the son of Anthony Minghella, the writer/director behind The English Patient and The Talented Mr Ripley. Agora is set in fourth century Roman-occupied Egypt. It follows astrologer Hypatia of Alexandria (Weisz) who strives to guard the wisdom of the ancient world. Minghella will play her slave Davus, who wrestles with his love for Weisz and his desire for freedom. Chilean writer/director Alejandro Amenabar, who co-wrote the film with Mateo Gil, will be behind the camera. His previous English-language work includes The Others, which starred Nicole Kidman and former Dr Who Christopher Eccleston. Shooting is slated to start on March 17th in Malta.
