Coolidge rides into Broncos cast

American Pie star Jennifer Coolidge has saddled up to join the cast of upcoming comedy Gentlemen Broncos, according to those in the know at the Hollywood Reporter.

The actress, who played the character of Stiffler's mom in the comedy franchise, will join Sam Rockwell (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Galaxy Quest) and Michael Angarano (Almost Famous, Lords of Dogtown) for the film, which is being directed by Napoleon Dynamite's Jared Hess.

Jemaine Clement of cult comedy The Flight Of The Conchords and Matt Jordon are also on board for the movie, which starts shooting this month.

Gentlemen Broncos is the story of a teenage scribe (Angarano) who attends a fantasy writer's camp only to discover his stories have been ripped off by a jaded novelist.

Coolidge, who is also known for her roles in the Christopher Guest improv-comedies A Mighty Wind, Best In Show and For Your Consideration, will play the mother of Angarano's character.

According to the paper, she has also just finished work on Soul Men, which also stars Samuel L Jackson and Bernie Mac.
