Prom Night is king at US box officeThe horror flick, which stars Hairspray's Brittany Snow, Dana Davis of Heroes and Reaper's Jessica Stroup, raked in $22.7 million (£11.4 million) on its opening weekend to beat fellow new release Street Kings - with Keanu Reeves and Forest Whittaker - to the top spot. Casino caper 21 dropped to number three, while family fantasy Nim's Island was at number four. George Cloony's latest offering, 1920s-set comedy Leatherheads, fell to fifth place this week, ahead of Dr Seuss' Horton Hears A Who!, which has now taken a whopping $139.62 million at US cinemas. New entry Smart People, starring Dennis Quaid, Sarah Jessica Parker and Juno's Ellen Page, debuted at seven, with Mexican-set horror The Ruins at eight. Comedy spoof Superhero Movie ended its third week on the chart at number nine, while Owen Wilson's comedy Drillbit Taylor hung in to round out the top ten.
