Gibson prepared to pity the fools

Annapolis and Transformers actor Tyrese Gibson has said he could be taking on the role of unwilling frequent flyer BA Baracus for the upcoming adaptation of 1980s action-tastic TV series The A-Team, according to reports.

Digital Spy says that according to film rumours site chud.com, the actor will play the part made famous by Mr T if he can fit it around filming commitments for the Transformers sequel and action flick Desert Eagle.

However, chunky gold chain fans, the famous necklaces may be on the way out, as Gibson said he wants to bring the character "into the 21st century".

Other actors rumoured to be signing up for some heroes-for-hire action include Hollywood big-hitters Bruce Willis - who is being touted for The A-Team's cigar-chomping head honcho Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith - and Woody Harrelson, who could be taking on the role of "Howling Mad" Murdoch.

Variety recently reported that Twentieth Century Fox has slated the action adventure for a June 2009 release.
