Sherlock Holmes to be directed by Guy Ritchie

With crime capers such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch to his name, Warners have decided he is the right man to bring the updated sleuth to big screen. Details of the plot are being kept under wraps, but it is though that the movie will be a reimagining of Holmes and his sidekick Dr Watson. According to Daily Variety, producer Lionel Wigram has said that the new Holmes would more adventurous and make use of his boxing and swordsman skills. Written by Arthur Conan Doyle in the late nineteenth century, the original stories focused on the detective's intellectual skills and powers of deduction. Ritchie, who is married to Madonna, is currently working on RocknRolla - a Film for which he also penned the screenplay. Film fans may remember that his 2005 crime movie, Revolver, was a less-than-spectacular addition the crime movie canon. Titles related to this articleRelated/similar articles
