Jack Black drops Man-witch

Jack Black has pulled out the supernatural comedy movie Man-Witch, it has been reported.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Todd Phillip's new movie is to tell the story of a male witch who takes a teaching job at a female witch school.

Had the partnership come to fruition, it would have been the first time the Be Kind, Rewind actor had worked with Phillips, who has writing, production and direction credits on big hits such as Old School and Borat.

It is thought that Black's representatives may have had a change of heart due to Phillips favouring work on Hangover, another comedy he is due to direct.

However, the movie still remains in development, with Warners currently considering several replacement actors for the lead role..

Warner Bros confirmed his departure but would not elaborate further, while spokesmen for Black and Phillips also declined to comment.

Animated comedy Kung Fu Panda, in which Black voices the lead character, recently went to the top of the US box office.
