4 stars out of 5.0
Eddie Murphy has confirmed his recent claims that he is returning to his club roots by announcing he will quit movies when he hits 50.

Now 47, he told TODAY'S Al Roker about his plans: "I am planning to make movies until I am 50,”

"That's two years and eight months. Then I am going back to the stage."

The Nutty Professor star also said his self-imposed deadline may mean he does not get to work with some of his heroes.

"I'd love to be on a Steven Spielberg set, Martin Scorsese set. But like I said, when I am 50, I'll be making movies for 30 years. That's 30 years and almost 40 pictures, that's enough," he said.

It has recently bee reported that Murphy will reprise his role as Axel Foley in Beverley Hills Cop IV.
