Eckhart: The Dark Knight is 'a heavy movie'
Aaron Eckhart has said he was drawn to latest Batman instalment The Dark Knight as it comments on what may be wrong with modern society.The Thank You For Smoking actor stars as Harvey Dent/Two Face a morally ambivalent character who starts out as a district attorney but transforms in to a deranged criminal. "The thing that struck me about this movie were the contemporary issues. The mirror of our times. It is a heavy movie in a lot of ways," Eckhart said. He also became the latest cast member to sing the praises of Heath Ledger, who may believe will win a posthumous Oscar for his role as The Joker. "Once he started doing his thing, I was an actor in the scene, but I was also a fan. I was looking at him and going 'Wow dude, that is pretty good stuff.'," he said.
