Mamma Mia! leading way for National Movie Awards

Abba film Mamma Mia! is one of the frontrunners at this year's National Movie Awards, with four nominations.

Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, have both been nominated in the best male category for their leading roles in the hit musical.

Best female nominees include Gemma Arterton for her performance in St Trinian's and Nicole Kidman for her role in The Golden Compass.

However, they face competition several big names, including Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker and Meryl Streep.

The Dark Knight star Christian Bale also features on the list for best male, alongside Will Smith, Ben Barnes and Johnny Depp.

I Am Legend, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor and Wanted are all competing for the action award.

The winners are voted for by the public and will be announced next week at a ceremony in London.
