Gibson and Glover for Lethal Weapon 5?

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover could be set to reprise their roles as Riggs and Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon 5.

According to reports, the pair have signed up to resurrect the franchise, following in the footsteps of other heroes who have recently returned to the big screen such as Indiana Jones and Rocky.

It is now ten years since the pair last played the buddies in Lethal Weapon 4, but it looks as if the project could now get the green light.

Richard Donner, who directed all four of the previous films, said last year that he would be happy to helm a fifth outing for Gibson and Glover.

An insider source told the Daily Star: "Lethal Weapon 5 is a go. Mel and Danny are back. The script is fabulous!"

Elsewhere, it was recently reported that Mel has signed up to star alongside Robert Di Niro in the forthcoming thriller The Edge Of Darkness.
