Twilight to fill in for Harry PotterThe film which is an adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's teen vampire novels was originally scheduled for December 12th in the US, but will now open on November 21st. Meyer's books have caused a similar splash in the US as the Harry Potter novels in the UK, but she is still relatively unknown in this country. Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, Summit Entertainment's Rob Freidman said: "We saw a unique opportunity to slot in our film, which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months. "We by no means are trying to fill the shoes of the incredible Potter franchise for 2008. Rather, we are just looking to bring the fans of Stephenie Meyer's incredible book series the film series as soon possible." Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince has been pushed back to July 2009.
