Five stars set for biopic

Five Hollywood stars have agreed deals to appear in the new biopic Howl, according to reports.

Alan Alda, Jeff Daniels, Mary-Louise Parker, David Strathairn and Paul Rudd will star in the Allen Ginsberg biopic.

The role of Judge Clayton Horn will be taken by Alda, Parker will play Gail Potter, Rudd will star as Luther Nichols, while Ralph McIntosh will be played by Strathairn.

James Franco is already attached to the picture, which will depict the life of poet Ginsberg.

The movie centres around the campaign to censor his 1950s poem Howl.

Rob Epstein and Jeffery Friedman, who have previously worked on documentaries such as The Celluloid Closet and Ten Days That Unexpectedly Changed America, will make their feature film debut with the project.

Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett Smith has claimed she would like to play Michelle Obama in a biopic, hinting her husband, Will Smith, could play Barack Obama, reports MTV.
