Depp hooks up with Verbinski, again

Johnny Depp will team up with Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski again for a new animation, it has been reported.

The three time Oscar-nominated star will link up with Verbinksi by lending his voice to Rango - an animated film due for a 2011 release.

Depp will play a household pet that goes on an adventure to discover his true self and John Logan will write the Paramount movie's script.

Director Verbinski said: "[It] will allow us to capture and translate every aspect of Johnny's performance, using it to drive the computer-generated character in a way that has yet to be seen in an animated feature."

According to the IMDb, the 44-year-old director made his directorial debut with Mousehunt, a cartoon family comedy, in 1997.

He has since won the Hollywood Movie of the Year for Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl in 2003.
