Scary Movie hangs on at the topScary Movie 3 was at number one for the second week running, taking £1.89 million over the three day period. Fantasy drama Big Fish, starring Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney and Helena Bonham Carter opened in second place, taking £1.64 million. Big Fish stars Albert Finney as an eccentric father who tells a fantastic version of his life story to his estranged son on his deathbed. Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King fell one place to number three, taking £1.1 million. It has grossed more than £56 million at the UK box office since its release last December. Comedy Lost in Translation, starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson as two lonely Americans who meet in a Tokyo bar, was steady at number four. Tom Cruise's The Last Samurai fell two places to fifth and US Civil War drama Cold Mountain was down at sixth. Children's adventure tale Peter Pan dropped one spot to seventh, while Girl with a Pearl Earring, starring Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson and based on the life of Dutch master Vermeer, rose one place to eighth. Action thriller Paycheck with Ben Affleck fell two places to ninth and romantic comedy Love Actually completed the top ten, weeks after its release. New entries in this week's UK box office chart include thriller Cold Creek Manor at 14 and biopic Sylvia at 15. Scary Movie 3 also topped the North American chart on its release last autumn. The film achieved a record opening weekend for an October release.
