Eagle Eye soars to US top spotStarring Shia LeBeouf, the new thriller made some $29.2 million (£16.2 million) in its first three days, despite only receiving mediocre reviews. The movie is directed by DJ Caruso and focuses on the story of strangers who become fugitives after mysterious phone calls force them into dangerous situations. Commenting on the film's successful weekend, Dreamworks spokesman Chip Sullivan said: "It's a good ride, and an audience pleasure. You get to suspend disbelief and just go for it." Nights In Rodanthe - a romantic drama starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane - opened in second position, while last week's number one Lakeview Terrace fell to third. Alex Kendrick's firefighting drama Fireproof made its debut at number four, while the top five was completed by the Coen Brothers' latest comedy caper Burn After Reading.
