Star Wars teasers whet the appetite

Star Wars director George Lucas has released another series of trailers for the eagerly anticipated final instalment of the smash hit film.

The film series' beginnings date back to 1977, with the 28 year timeline finally coming to an end with Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - the missing piece in the Star Wars jigsaw.

Ahead of the May 19th release date Lucasfilm has now released three trailers to whet the appetite of fans.

The footage offers a glimpse of a darker world in which young Anakin Skywalker - later to become the imperious Darth Vader - is slowly turned to the 'dark side'.

In the clips the distrust of Anakin by the Jedi Council becomes clear, with the tension steadily rising before Darth Vader's awakening.

The teasers, which also include some stunning light-sabre fights, break down into three segments: Tragedy, Dark Side Unleashed and, simply, Teaser.
