Collymore to cameo in Basic Instinct 2

A familiar face to British football fans will take his place alongside Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction it has been confirmed.

The former England, Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore will play a cameo role in the sequel to the smash hit 1990's film.

A spokeswoman for the film told the BBC that "it is only a small part but he has been confirmed".

"I can't go into detail of character or the plot. There is a certain amount of mystery," she added.

It is thought that Collymore, who has courted notoriety in his career including a violent altercation with then girlfriend TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson and later for his predilection for voyeuristic sex, or "dogging", will only be in the film for a few scenes.

The striker played for 11 clubs, including an ill fated stint in Spain.

In Basic Instinct 2 Sharon Stone reprises her role as Catherine Tramell, the femme fatale who uses her body and mind to dupe - and kill - victims.
