Latino link-up gets green light

Two of Hollywood's hottest stars, hunk Antonio Banderas and diva Jennifer Lopez, are set to appear together in the thriller Bordertown.

Lopez has recently appeared in a string of romantic comedies such as Gigli and Maid in Manhattan, and is currently on our cinema screens in Shall We Dance, alongside Chicago heartthrob Richard Gere.

Now she is to turn her hand to Bordertown, and will play the role of a journalist investigating a series of murders on the US-Mexico border.

Gregory Nava, who gave Lopez her breakthrough role in the 1997 film Selena, will direct the film, and is hoping that the Latino fusion between Lopez and Banderas will prove successful.

The voice of Puss in Boots in Shrek 2, Banderas is also set to star in the forthcoming Legend Of Zorro, with Catherine Zeta-Jones.
