Sin City brings comic book to life

One of this year's most eagerly anticipated films comes to UK cinemas today, with the arrival of Sin City.

The film is directed by Robert Rodriguez, the ambitious director behind other projects such as Four Rooms, From Dusk Till Dawn and The Faculty.

The film-noir concept, based on the comic books of Frank Miller, is the first film to have been shot entirely on a digital backlot, with actors performing in front of a green screen, and the whole background being added post-production.

Three stories are brought to life by a cast that includes star of Arthur and Closer Clive Owen, The Sixth Sense actor Bruce Willis, and the stunning Jessica Alba, soon to appear in Fantastic Four.

There are also strong performances from Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Benicio del Toro, Brittany Murphy and Jaime King.

The film, which features scenes guest-directed by Quentin Tarantino, is sure to leave cinemagoers stunned by the visual treats on offer.
