We talk to Adam Deacon, Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston about being nominated for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, plus their highlights over the past year.
We went down to BAFTA HQ to find out the shortlist for this year’s Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award. After a longlist of eight, it was announced that Adam Deacon, Chris Hemsworth, Chris O’dowd, Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston will face the public vote, making it an all-male line-up.
This is the only BAFTA award voted for by the British public and it was down to Orange Wednesdays customers to select the five from a long list of eight determined by the award jurors. It was down to Pippa Harris, award jury chair, Deputy Chair of BAFTA’s Film Committee and producing partner of Sam Mendes, to announce the nominees and she was joined by three of the five nominees; Adam Deacon, Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston.
Previous winners include: James McAvoy, Eva Green, Shia LaBeouf, Noel Clarke, Kristen Stewart and Tom Hardy. The winner will be announced at the awards on 12 February 2012
