Directors Paul Thomas and Matt Harlock reveal what inspired them to make a documentary about American comedian Bill Hicks.

American: The Bill Hicks Story is a photo-animated documentary which follows the life and career of satirist, Bill Hicks. We speak to the film's directors about their decision to incorporate animation into the film, and the extensive footage used to re-tell Hick's story.
