Spielberg takes on another War of the Worlds
In his next movie, starring British actor Daniel Craig from Layer Cake and Enduring Love, Spielberg will explore another War of the Worlds as he approaches the subject of the Israeli Mossad unit that was ordered to kill the Palestinian terrorists responsible for the 1972 Munich Olympics bombing.
The currently unnamed film will also draw experience from Troy's Eric Bana and the Australian-born Geoffrey Rush, who is known for his performances in Pirates of the Caribbean, Intolerable Cruelty and Frida.
Spielberg explained his decision to take on such a controversial subject to the New York Times.
The director behind movies such as A.I. and Jurassic Park, said: "Viewing Israel's response to Munich through the eyes of the men who were sent to avenge that tragedy adds a human dimension to a horrific episode that we usually think about only in political or military terms."
