Alan Partridge movie 'in the pipeline'

Comedian Steve Coogan has confirmed he is working on a movie about his most famous character, Alan Partridge, according to reports.

Coogan told BBC Radio 1: "Yeah, we are planning on making a movie. We're talking at the moment.

"What it is we're not quite sure, but yes, there are plans afoot to make a film."

The 43-year-old added that a storyline for the film had already been decided, but refused to give away any details of the plot.

Coogan first appeared as character Alan Partridge on the BBC Radio 4 show On the Hour in 1994.

He later landed a TV spoof chat show Knowing Me Knowing You and two further spin-off series of I'm Alan Partridge.

Coogan, who has won a Bafta award for his portrayal of Partridge, can currently be seen alongside Ben Stiller and Amy Adams in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
