Going for Goal!

Football film Goal! enjoyed its London premiere last night in Leicester Square, with many of the cast taking to the red carpet.

The film, directed by Danny Cannon, also attracted some of the football world's biggest names, such as Alan Shearer and Michael Owen.

Shearer actually appears in the film, much of which was shot at Newcastle United Football Club, along with fellow players Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Patrick Kluivert and Kieron Dyer.

Cast members including Anna Friel, Kuno Becker, Alessandro Nivola, Sean Pertwee and Ashley Walters were all present for the premiere.

They were also joined at the red carpet event by Shakespeare In Love actor Joseph Fiennes, as well as England Ashes hero Kevin Pietersen and Jerry Hall.

The film is expected to be the first instalment of a trilogy of films, with filming on the second part already underway.

Goal! is released at UK cinemas on September 30th.
