Jackson delays charity dinner over traffic chaos
Samuel L. Jackson was forced to grovel to guests at a swanky dinner event - after he turned up two hours late due to London's hectic traffic.
The Pulp Fiction star jetted into the capital to host the Shooting Stars in Desert Nights Ball in aid of children's charity Rainbow Trust.
But at a pre-event dinner in the city's Soho district on Thursday (11Jun09), guests were left waiting for the main man to arrive - because he was stuck in gridlocked traffic due to strike action on the London Underground.
However, after a two-hour delay, the star finally made it to the bash - and pleaded for sympathy from his waiting guests.
A source tells the London Paper, "When Sam finally arrived he kept going round to everyone's table asking if they were ok to help make amends. He was the perfect host.
"The meal was supposed to start at 7pm, but by 9pm guests were getting a little edgy."
