Forster in for French film

Director Marc Forster is expected to shoot a new film entitled 36, a remake of a recent French film called 36 Quai Des Orfevres.

The French version was extremely popular in France last year. It starred Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Auteuil and was nominated for eight Cesar awards.

36 is the latest venture for Forster, who directed the forthcoming film Stay, which will star Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.

He has also recently finished filming Stranger Than Fiction, which will feature Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Dustin Hoffman.

Forster's previous credits include Monster's Ball with Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton, and Finding Neverland, featuring Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet.

The script is being written by Dean Georgaris, who has penned screenplays for The Manchurian Candidate, with Denzel Washington, Paycheck with Ben Affleck, and Tombraider: The Cradle Of Life with Angelina Jolie.

Robert De Niro and his company Tribeca will be one of the producers, teaming up with Georgaris' production company Penn Station.
