Facebook movie due from David Fincher?

David Fincher is reportedly in talks to create a film based around the social networking phenomenon Facebook.

The Fight Club director would be joined by producers Scott Rudin (Revolutionary Road), Michael De Luca (The Love Guru) and Dana Brunetti (21) if he closed the deal, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

West Wing writer Aaron Sorkin is reportedly penning the script for the untitled project, but as yet no details about a plot or leading stars have been released.

Fincher was nominated for an Oscar for best director at this year's awards for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The film, which starred Brad Pitt as a man who is born old and starts ageing backwards, picked up three awards at the ceremony for best art direction, makeup and visual effects.

Fincher still has the graphic novel adaptation Black Hole set up at Paramount, but will no longer direct serial killer flick Torso.
