Saw franchise to get seventh outing
Saw VII will go into production next January, while the sixth edition of the horror franchise will hit cinemas this autumn, reports Variety.
David Hackl, director of Saw V has been tapped to helm the project, while Mark Burg and Oren Koules are back to produce for the seventh time in a row.
To date, the five Saw films already have grossed an impressive $700 million (£427 million) at the international box office, with the franchise showing no signs of running out of steam just yet.
The films follow a similar theme, which usually involves several people waking up in a strange location and being forced to undergo a series of gruesome tasks to earn their freedom, under the watchful eye of a sadistic man known as Jigsaw John (Tobin Bell).
