Jim Broadbent signs for new Mike Leigh film
The Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince star will join Imelda Staunton and Philip Davis for the film, which is untitled as yet.
Stuart McQuarrie and David Bradley, who plays janitor Filch in Harry Potter, have signed on for the movie, which will mark the first time the pair have worked with the director.
The film will also be the first for Leigh since the death of his long-time producer Simon Channing-Williams earlier this year.
Leigh is well known for successful British films such as a Secrets and Lies and the Oscar-nominated Vera Drake, which also starred Imelda in the lead role.
Broadbent recently appeared in Perrier's Bounty alongside Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson and is currently busy filming scenes for the final Harry Potter instalment The Deathly Hallows.
