The Firm extra lost finger in fight scene

An extra on Nick Love's soccer movie The Firm was rushed to hospital during filming - when his finger was bitten off by a vicious dog.

The film depicts gritty soccer violence in the 1980s and several scenes show mob fights with cops on the streets of southern England.

Love drafted in dozens of extras for filming - and one ended up hospitalised after a nasty encounter with a police dog.

The director says, "The dog went too far in the line of duty. The fight was planned meticulously but it got out of control."
