Wesley Snipes to star in Ferrara film
It is their first project together since King of New York, the 1990 cult film about a recently-released crime lord who sets out to regain his lost territory.
Game of Death, which started shooting this week in Detroit, will see martial artist Snipes play the role of a politician's bodyguard who must fend off five of the world's top assassins.
Robert Davi, who previously starred in Die Hard and Bond film Licence to Kill, and stunt woman and actress Zoe Bell co-star. Bell most recently carried out stunts in the summer hit Inglourious Basterds.
Game of Death was penned by James Agnew and will be produced by Billy Dietrich and Rafael Primorac.
In 2008, Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for tax fraud. He is currently on bail while he appeals his conviction and is free to work, even internationally.
