Fantastic Mr Fox premieres in London

The star-studded cast of Fantastic Mr Fox attended the premiere of the film last night in London.

Although Meryl Streep, the voice of Mrs Fox, stayed in the US because of illness, many of her co-stars attended, including George Clooney (Mr Fox), Bill Murray (Badger) and Jason Schwartzman (Mr Fox's son Ash).

Based on Roald Dahl's book of the same name, Fantastic Mr Fox tells the tale of a fox who decides to go back to his old thieving ways with catastrophic consequences.

Clooney revealed that he wasn't sure who would watch the film.

"I'm not sure who's gonna see it - it's sort of made for grown-ups and it's also made for kids and you never know how that plays," he said.

The animation, filmed in stop-motion frame in London's 3 Mills Studios, was written by Des Anderson and Noah Baumach and directed by Anderson.

British actors Michael Gambon and Brian Cox also star.

The gala screening launched the 53rd London Film Festival.
