Up keeps its place atop box office
The movie, about an old man who ties balloons to his house to make it airborne, beat new release Couples Retreat, which had takings of just £1.3 million into the number two spot.
Another new entry at number three was The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, which is the last film that Heath Ledger appeared in before his untimely death, which racked up sales just shy of £1 million.
Ricky Gervais' latest comedy drama The Invention of Lying slipped a place to number four in the chart, while Zombie land rounded off the top five, falling three places from last week's second spot.
