Top films of the new millennium revealed
Batman classic The Dark Knight has been named the best film of the noughties by users of the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).
Users ranked the Gotham epic as number one because "it surpassed the hype" and was "much more than a Batman movie".
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Kings took the second place, with users describing it as "unprecedented".
City of God, set in Rio de Janeiro's favelas, was named the third best film of the decade, followed by The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
This year's feel-good animation Up was ranked fifth, with Memento taking the sixth spot.
The Lord of the Rings made another appearance in the top ten, with The Two Towers being voted the seventh best film of the noughties, followed by Wall-E.
French film Amelie took the ninth spot, while the Departed featured at number ten.
The Other Lives, The Pianist, Spirited Away, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and Requiem for a Dream finished off the list.
