Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll screening held
The film, which is directed by Mat Whitecross, looks at the life of Ian Dury, one of Britain's most famous songwriters.
Starring Andy Serkis, Ray Winstone and Mackenzie Crook, the film examines the relationships of the songwriter, who died from cancer ten years ago, and his battle with the debilitating disease polio.
Speaking to the Press Association, Serkis, who plays the songwriter, praised the family of the late Dury for their help and support.
"It wasn't daunting because we had so much help from Ian's family, all the time we had them at our shoulder and they really helped to inform the whole process really," he said.
Among Dury's best known songs were What a Waste, Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick, Reasons to be Cheerful and Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll.
Serkis is best known for playing Gollum in Lord of the Rings.
