Apatow won't direct in 3-D
Hollywood filmmaker Judd Apatow refuses to follow the 3-D film craze - because his raunchy comedies don't need to be any more graphic.
James Cameron's Oscar-winning 3-D epic Avatar has inspired a number of other filmmakers to adopt the increasingly popular cinema technique.
George Lucas is planning to revive his Star Wars films in 3-D, while studio bosses at Warner Bros. have confirmed the technology will be implemented in the final installments of the Harry Potter franchise.
But Apatow insists 3-D would be "scary" for fans of his raunchy films.
He explains, "I don't want everything in 3-D because I don't want to be in the middle of everything. Sometimes I want to be distant from it... I don't think anyone want to see Jason Segel's penis in 3-D."
Segel exposed his genitals in Apatow's 2008 hit comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
