Anchorman 2 on hold, says Will Ferrell
Although the film is scheduled to be released in 2012, the actor, who played the role of Burgundy in the first Anchorman film, said conflicting schedules among cast members is delaying production.
The original film, which also stared Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Fred Willard, told the story of San Diego's top-rated newsman in the male-dominated broadcasting of the 1970s, whose world came crashing down when a female employee joined his office.
Speaking to Zoo magazine, Ferrell said: "I thought we were doing it. I was told it was happening and now I've heard it's going to be too hard to get everyone together."
"Hopefully the director Adam McKay will be able to talk to all the guys individually and see if we can figure it out," he added.
