Iron Man 2 world premiere moved from London to L.A.
The world premiere of Iron Man 2 has become the first major Hollywood casualty of the Icelandic volcano eruption - studio bosses have switched the movie's debut from London to Los Angeles.
But, with a heavy cloud of volcanic ash hovering over Europe and threatening to ground further flights in and out of the continent, executives at Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment have decided to relocate the world premiere to Los Angeles - to ensure the stars' attendance.
However, British event organisers still hope to press ahead with plans for a special screening of Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2 on the original premiere date as the actors take to the red carpet in Hollywood.
The volcanic dust has caused travel chaos for six million passengers following the cancellation of more than 63,000 flights over the past week (begs12Apr10), costing airlines £125 million a day.
