Profile of a partner
Every month, we will be taking an in-depth look at one of our business partners - looking at what they do, how they tick, what makes them successful and why it's so great that we're working with them. This month… Royal Mail
LOVEFiLM began working with Royal Mail as soon as the company was conceived in 2003. Once it was up and running, it was soon realised on both sides that such an innovative and specialised service would benefit from a dedicated account manager from the Royal Mail.
The way the partnership works is that Royal Mail listens to our needs as a company and the needs of our customers. Therefore, special arrangements are made with regards to postal collection, frequency of delivery, and the local depots work closely with us to ensure that our deliveries always run smoothly.
And our business is good for the Royal Mail too - with subscriptions to our service as high as they are, we are able to enjoy a friendly, mutually beneficial relationship which is effective for both businesses. To enhance this working relationship, we are currently working on a number of special projects with the Royal Mail, including the development of new packaging for our products which will allow them to be processed by machine rather than manual labour, as well as being convenient and favourable to our customers.
Now that Video Island and LOVEFiLM have merged, we will continue to strengthen our relationship with Royal Mail, and the company's overall integration plans will take the relationship with Royal Mail into consideration, as we look to strengthen the partnership in the future.
