Robert Pattinson filming new drama
The actor will star in Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon, which signals a further move by Pattinson to bolster his CV with work in serious dramas.
In March, his role in Remember Me met with favourable reviews, although the star is still best known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga franchise.
The third instalment of the series - Twilight Saga: Eclipse - will arrive in cinemas on June 30th, so fans of the actor will not have to wait long to see him back on the big screen.
Water for Elephants is based on the gritty New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, which tells the story of star-crossed lovers and circus life, set in Depression-era USA.
Twilight took $70 million (£46.8 million) on its opening weekend and has so far taken $408,773,703 worldwide.
