Todd Phillips: I work well under pressure
Speaking to MTV news, the director said he wanted to work on another movie straight after last year's The Hangover.
"I think pressure is always a good thing. A lot of guys make a big hit movie on the size of The Hangover and they get gun-shy. They wait a few years in a weird way, and I wanted to do the opposite," he explained.
Starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, The Hangover netted a Critics Choice Award for best comedy.
Phillips added that he isn't worried if his new film, Due Date, isn't as successful.
"You can't judge other successes or other movies based on [The Hangover]. I just didn't want to get into that headspace," he said.
Due Date, which will hit cinemas in November, stars Robert Downey Jr, Galifianakis and Juliette Lewis and focuses on a father-to-be, who is forced to hitch a ride with an aspiring actor on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time.
