Nicole Kidman: I took an active role in Rabbit Hole
Speaking to Back Stage, the Oscar-winning actress, who netted the prize for her role in The Hours, admitted she took a very active role in the development of the Rabbit Hole.
"We just found the financing ourselves, and we did it for a very, very low budget, and that was it," she said. "So we could choose whichever director we wanted, and we had all the power over it."
The film, which stars Kidman, Aaron Echart, Dianne Wiest, Miles Teller and Tammy Blanchard, focuses on a couple who struggle to cope after the death of their son in an accident.
She added that playing a grieving mother was difficult, but said that she prefers taking on challenging roles at this stage in her career.
Rabbit Hole is set to hit British cinemas in February 2011.
