Robert Duvall: I like taking on challenging roles
Oscar-winning actor Robert Duvall has revealed that he still loves to try his hand at a challenging role, despite being just weeks short of his 80th birthday.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, the star said: "I think [acting is] a wonderful profession as long as people can benefit from what we do."
He said that a fan might say "I saw you in the The Great Santini" and note that the film had helped his relationship with his father, which Duvall said makes him feel good.
The actor, who took on the role of Tom Hagen in the first two Godfather films, also told the publication that he didn't regret not playing the character in the third movie.
He said that this was because The Godfather Part III "wasn't as good as the other two".
Duvall has been nominated for six Oscars and won the best actor award for his role in Tender Mercies.
