Lohan set to sparkle in diamond movie
The film, which is an adaptation of a play by Tennessee Williams, tells the story of Fisher Willow - played by Lohan - who dates a poor man and accuses him of stealing a priceless diamond which she has lost.
Ellen Burstyn and David Strathairn are also attached to the movie, which could go into production next year.
Lohan shot to fame at the age of 12 playing a set of twins in The Parent Trap, following this with lead roles in Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and the hilarious Mean Girls.
She also starred in 2005's Herbie Fully Loaded, where she attempts to become a Nascar racer in the famous number 53 Volkswagen Beetle.
Of late, Lindsay has made the transition from children's movies to mainstream projects, starring in upcoming films Bobby, Georgia Rule and Chapter 27.
